Tawany is a student from Brazil working for a year in Wisconsin and honing her artistic vision. She works primarily with oil and acrylic paint but occasionally draws in graphite as well. Tawany says that through painting she can "express what is inside me, my feelings, my anguish and deepest pains, and also my desire to learn more." She hopes to bless others through her creations and show that art is greater than pain, sadness and loss. Much of Tawany's work is experimental as she studies different subject matter and explores emotion through her painting. I am particularly captivated by her animals and the painstaking detail and care she uses to render everything from the texture of their fur to the power of their gaze..
